Italian chapel restoration in Prague

Restauro della cappella degli italiani a Praga_content

SIAD has been present in the Czech Republic since 1992.
The Chapel of the Italians in Prague was in a state of total abandonment and, as early as 2007, the SIAD Group had commissioned an initial restoration project which, for various reasons, was not followed up. Subsequently, for eight years attempts had been made, in vain, to start the work. The positive breakthrough came thanks to the commitment and perseverance of Aldo Amati from Bergamo, Italian Ambassador to the Czech Republic. The restoration project took ten years of effort and work, which restored splendour to this Baroque jewel, made by our compatriots in the early 1600s.
This operation-which has given back to the city of Prague one of its symbols par excellence-is also a demonstration of fruitful cooperation between public, private and religious institutions. The inauguration took place in 2017 in the presence of the Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, the Honorable Antonio Misiani, the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Edoardo Brunetti, the Czech Minister of Culture Daniel Herman, the Mayor of Prague Oldrich Lamecky and part of the council, Cardinal Dominik Duka, Archbishop of Prague, Apostolic Nuncio Giuseppe Leanza, and the Exarch of the Uniate Catholic Church, Ladislav Hucko who has been entrusted with the management of the church for the next 20 years.
