IGAT S.p.A. powered by renewable sources
This project represents a significant milestone for IGAT, perfectly in line with the Group's vision. Electricity is a key resource for the company, and the opportunity to sign an agreement with Edison Energia for the supply of renewable energy from photovoltaic plants has generated considerable interest, leading to the start of operations in 2020. The choice of supplier is part of IGAT's strategy to collaborate with partners who are committed to sustainability.

The choice of supplier is part of IGAT's strategy to collaborate with partners who are committed to sustainability. Edison stands out for its concrete commitment, as demonstrated by initiatives such as: its membership of the UN Global Compact since 2005, the adoption of 10 ESG objectives monitored annually and a high ESG rating according to Ecovadis (Gold Medal).
IGAT began evaluating the project with a letter of intent signed with Edison in 2020, firmly believing in the value of an initiative that would guarantee the exclusive use of energy produced by the photovoltaic plant for its production facility. This collaboration reflects the SIAD Group's commitment to sustainability, without neglecting the economic benefits of optimising such a significant cost item.
The plant has been designed to maximise efficiency and minimise environmental impact: the crystalline photovoltaic panels, which track a single axis, are surrounded by rows of trees to mitigate visual impact and equipped with a weather station to monitor and manage the energy produced.
The ten-year contract provides for an agreed price and the issue of Guarantees of Origin certificates, certifying that the energy supplied to IGAT comes exclusively from the dedicated photovoltaic plant.
